When initiating a new purchase ask yourself a few questions such as:

When renewing after a prolonged time lapse, verify the original reasons are still valid. There may have been ulterior motives in the original purchase such as: political, association with others or coercion by circumstances at the time of the initial purchase that are no longer in play.

This is especially important for the small business manager who is often the only purchasing authority.

Develop a discipline that adds very little, if any, to the time expended making purchasing decisions.
