Correct Mistakes Immediately

Published: Nov 2, 2004

Application

Once you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

Correcting the mistake is important, but correcting it immediately is even more important. This is especially so when avoidable costs are involved.

Immediate action will shorten your time of anguish.

It requires a certain amount of courage to admit a mistake. Doing so develops your strength of character. At the same time, you gain respect and set a good example for your associates.

If you are forced to make frequent apologies, you've got another problem.
