The Lights Are On But Nobody's Home

Application

Do you have people on your staff who appear to be functioning normally yet, their reactions are not as normal?

Increase your observations for other symptoms that may be affecting work performance. You could be receiving signals of such things as: drug usage, sleep deprivation, depression, lack of motivation and a myriad of emotional problems.

If the situation becomes severe or there is an increase, you may need to do some interventions such as: seeking opinions from others, conduct an exploratory interview, seeking outside help, constructive discipline or brush up on the proper de-hiring procedures.

Early on, set your tolerance limits. Remember you can't change a leopard's spots.

Check our communication model to check if your own messages could be at fault.
