Secret Agents are for Hire

Application

Old soldiers may fade away while spies and counter spies become private consultants.

Police and security personnel have generous retirement plans. Stress of assignments cause many operatives to opt for early retirement. This results in a significant supply of experts with the energy and skills to conduct freelance investigations. They're in the Yellow Pages or ask around. Many have specialties.

They have access to information networks, electronic gadgetry and associates that would blow your mind if you knew all. As a matter of fact, it's best to develop a high degree of trust with them while you remain ignorant of the methods used on your behalf. Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

Of course, the scope of services used depends on your budget. Information is the cheapest to obtain and the safest to apply. Most activities conducted with electronic and other gadgetry are very risky and should be employed with extreme caution.

The simple act of having an agent on standby will give you enough confidence to bluff an opponent into thinking you can inflict a lot of damage should they act unreasonably. Enough confidence to say, "Not acceptable!"

Assume others are capable of eavesdropping on you.

None that Nephew Gerry will divulge here. Two of my greatest capers involved an organization with whom I continue favorable business transactions and a person who subsequently became a friend.
