Application
The search for knowledge can expand endlessly without problems and goals to focus upon.
The small business manager enjoys the opportunity to be practical.
Review your own actions for possible errors or weaknesses in applying knowledge.
- The Know-it-All Attitude
- Wasting precious time and resources reinventing the wheel, when you could ask for help or learn from others.
- Tyranny of Experts
- Over-reliance on experts who cannot relate their knowledge to your situation.
- Information Overload
- Acquiring a paralysis from trying to collect too much information.
- Right Answers, Wrong Questions
- Spending an inordinate amount of time and resources on data collection rather than thinking about the right questions to ask.
- Focusing on the Wrong Stimulus
- Reacting to isolated or recent events without looking at the overall pattern.
- Playing Ostrich
- Being unaware of the changing environment around you.
- Fooled by Appearances
- Underestimating or overestimating others.
- Faulty Conclusions
- Inferring a cause-and-effect relationship from mere association rather than on any statistical or other empirical bases.
