Take a Moment to Worry

Published: Jul 1, 2004

Application

Decide to live a happy life. Make every moment, every action and every event contribute to implementing that decision.

People who have not made that kind of decision are destined to remain in the default mode of being reactive, negative, easily depressed or all of the above. Such persons occasionally have brief moments where they count their blessings. Unfortunately, they are all too brief and scarce to make any discernable change to their unhappy inclination.

Rather, the person dedicated to happiness can yield to brief and occasional moments of despair. The strong desire to be happy causes the brevity. The fleeting visit to some grim reality gives a fuller perspective and a balanced outlook on life. It, even, stimulates greater positive and preventative measures to be taken.
