It seems inherent in our human nature to blame others. If we have a spouse, that's the handiest person to blame or we even try the whole institution of marriage. If we are employed, we blame our colleagues, the boss or the entire workplace system.
On the other hand, if you aspire to live on a higher plane of mental health, a mirror can be the simplest solution.
When things go wrong - look into a mirror. That's the healthiest and safest place to express your first complaint and to investigate what caused the error. You'll be face-to-face with the best person to correct it.
You might remind yourself of your behavioral objectives by having a special mirror onto which you paste such signs as, "Complaint Department" or, "The Buck Stops Here" or, "The Fixer" or, "Creator of a Happy Life."
As with any powerful treatment, exercise caution. Don't beat yourself into mental illness.
More caution is recommended if you place the signs in the staff washroom.
