Release Pent-up Emotions With Your Tongue

Published: Sep 14, 2004

Application

Share your problems with someone and you are apt to get the response, "That's nothing wait 'til I tell you what happened to me."

Just talking, in itself, is a healthy exercise because your perspective on your own emotional concerns often changes while you are revealing your feelings to someone else.

As well, instead of thinking you are the only person with such a problem, you discover you are not the only one and you often find your situation is better than that of most other people.

The activity is akin to catharsis which is defined as the release of pent-up emotions. Confessionals conducted for religious purposes, also, seem to be good for a person's mental and emotional health.

Ponder the consequences of not conducting such a mental health regimen. You could end up undergoing 'scream therapy' or worse.

Develop a relationship with someone you trust and pour it all out with your tongue.
