In a university in the UK there's a dormitory with double doors for each room. The rule is: (a) if the outer door is open and the inner door is closed it means, "I want some privacy but you may knock." and (b) if the outer door is closed in means, "Go away! I'm studying and don't want to be disturbed!"
Configure your office layout so your back is to the entrance.
Emphasize the above by wearing large visible headphones with or without the music turned on. A variation is one of those hearing protectors used in high noise locations.
If you're older – feign deafness.
Display visiting hours on your entrance. This is a standard practice for purchasing agents that is highly respected by salespeople in the trade. If you're too shy to post a sign, you can do almost the same with an attitude or verbal conditioning of your staff.
Do frequent [MBWA] Management By Walking Around. This tends to reduce the necessity for people to come to you.
